Svanehøj to provide pumps for 15 LNG dual-fuel container vessels

Danish marine pump specialist Svanehøj has received an order from China’s Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding to produce gasoline pump techniques for 15 new construct dual-fuel LNG container vessels (7000 TEU).

The 30 deepwell gasoline pumps might be delivered between August 2022 and January 2024.
This is one of Svanehøj’s largest LNG fuel-related orders so far. It is also the second LNG gas pump systems order that Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding has placed with Svanehøj in the final 12 months. In July 2021, Svanehøj signed a contract to provide deepwell pumps for 10 dual-fuel LNG container vessels (15 000 TEU).

“Until a number of years ago, the utilization of LNG as a marine fuel was restricted to LNG carriers and smaller ships. But we are now seeing a sharp increase in fuel pump orders for deep sea vessels corresponding to container ships and car carriers,” said Johnny Houmann, chief sales officer at Svanehøj. “We had been chosen because the supplier of gasoline pump techniques for over 50% of the dual-fuel LNG container vessels ordered globally in 2020–21. And we purpose to increase our market share further within the coming years.”
